About WhiteTail Ridge

WhiteTail Ridge is an intimate Hot Tenting experience that is nestled amidst the pines in the Ontario Lanark Highlands. We offer an exceptional and unique primitive glamping experience for all seasons. Our camp is located 10 minutes outside of Lanark Village in Ontario, and is the perfect place for a much needed get-away from the city or just to disconnect and settle into the calm and peacefulness of nature. It's also a great stop-over for those that motorcycle or cycle the Highlands. We are on the edge of it and so much more to explore!

Experience and take in the beauty and tranquility of a pristine winter wonderland, nature at its most quiet and peaceful or summer camping in the wilderness is a delightful experience that awakens the senses and rejuvenates the sprit. Get cozy in the tent with the warmth of a wood stove and listen to the crackling sound of the wood logs burning while feeling relaxed and comfortable especially on a cold brisk day.

In the evenings, enjoy the warmth of a campfire while enjoying the natural beauty of the stars when looking up through the canopy above. When the moon is hidden and the sky is clear, you can even see the Milky Way. Absolutely Stunning!

There is a firepit to cook over or use the Pit Boss propane griddle in the cook shack. The cook shack isn't insulated, but it is out of the elements and has dishes, pots and pans, and other basic food-prep type equipment for your use. And an area to eat.

And of course, let's not forget, an outhouse!

The Camp Site

There are over 4 kms of trails of snowshoeing/hiking trails at the camp or plenty of other trails within 10 - 15 minutes around the area.  The land is your typical Canadian Shield and is home to a variety of animals and plants. The elevation on the trails varies by 35m and passes through forest and ponds. You will see a variety of animals such as deer, porcupines, racoons, skunks, fox and birds of every kind, beaver, otters and muskrats. There are coyotes and even though they will leave you alone, you can hear them howling and sometimes it seems they are close enough to give you goosebumps. Check out our picture Gallery
