Camping In All Seasons
Camping is such an exciting adventure, but we know it can feel a bit daunting, especially in the winter! At WhiteTail Ridge, we’re here to turn those challenges into fun opportunities, all while keeping the thrill of wilderness camping alive. Get ready for an unforgettable experience!

Wood Stove
The defining feature of fall/winter and spring camping is the use of a wood-burning stove inside the tent, providing direct heat. "Hot Tents" are designed with fire-resistant materials, proper ventilation, and a chimney opening to safely expel smoke. Proper stove operation and fire safety practices are crucial.

Comfort
Compared to traditional camping, hot tenting offers a significantly higher level of comfort, allowing for extended stays in cold conditions. Our Hot Tent has a queen size Sleigh Bed for your comfort and in the winter it will be warmed ahead of your arrival and the bed warmed by hot water bottles (which you have use of for the remainder of the stay and a great way to keep your feet warm!)

Cook Shack
The Cook Shack is not insulated but it is out of the element and it does allow for cooking meals inside where there is a Pit Boss Propane Griddle, thereby eliminating the need to go outside in the wet weather. The Cook Shack has dishes, pots and pans, and other basic food-prep type equipment for your use. And an area to eat.
